Hello,

My name is Kathryn Haskins. I have taught for 30+ years in the elementary setting and have been busy creating anchor charts for 20+ years. What are Anchor Charts?

  • Anchor charts are a tool used to support instruction and “anchor” the learning for students.

  • Anchor charts build a culture of literacy in the classroom by making thinking—both the teacher’s and students’—visual.

  • Anchor Charts provide students with a source to reference when working on their assignments or projects. Now, after the skills have been taught, I can use clip art instead of my drawings to make them cute, educational, state-standard-based, and eye-catching.

    My Workable Charts, adaptable to different grade levels, are blank but designed in the same format as the anchor chart. They can take many forms and generally target relatively narrow-scope skills or content knowledge that assesses broader sets of knowledge or skills. This adaptability allows educators to cater to the specific needs of their students, making learning more engaging and effective. 

    Bee-bots and Coding Critters, my passion, are not just tools, but gateways to exciting learning experiences. When using Bee-bots, I collect data on my students for the skills they learned and teach technology simultaneously. Bee-bot Mats are great for all ages. Coding Critters, designed for Grades Prek, K, and 1st, are screen-free coding robots that ignite critical thinking, patience, logic, and other essential STEM skills in students, sparking excitement in the classroom.
